She began singing at a very young age, when her grandfather taught her to sing duets along with him. Nicks was 16 when she was gifted an Goya Guitar and began writing songs of her own. While a student at Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, California, Nicks came across Lindsey Buckingham, her future romantic and musical partner.
